The viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape is a newly developed anti-corrosion product specifically designed for buried pipelines and other specialized equipment requiring corrosion protection, such as flanges, valves, and pumps. It offers advantages including simple and convenient application, excellent sealing performance, long-lasting corrosion resistance, and complete environmental friendliness, making it an ideal solution for corrosion protection.
System Features
The visco-elastic coating system is designed for corrosion protection of onshore and offshore pipeline, flanges etc, it consists of visco-elastic tape, visco-elastic paste and outerwrap.
The adhesive tape employs a polymer viscoelastic formulation that combines both adhesive and elastic properties, enabling adaptive adhesion to minor pipeline deformations. In the event of minor coating damage, the adhesive material automatically flows and repairs itself, forming a seamless sealing layer that fundamentally prevents the penetration of moisture and corrosive media.
The viscoelastic colloidal structure is highly dense with extremely low water vapor permeability, effectively isolating corrosive media such as soil, seawater, and acid/alkali/salt mist. Additionally, it exhibits superior resistance to cathodic delamination, ensuring full compatibility with cathodic protection systems without coating detachment issues induced by cathodic protection currents.
No special requirements are imposed on the substrate; it adheres firmly to various materials such as steel, ductile iron, FBE/PE coatings, concrete, and plastic pipes without causing chemical reactions or compatibility issues, demonstrating exceptional adaptability.
