The application of polypropylene fiber anti-corrosion tape involves several steps, including steel pipe surface treatment, primer application, tape wrapping, and trench backfilling.
Steel pipe surface treatment requires rust removal. Manual rust removal should achieve St3 grade, and mechanical rust removal should achieve Sa2 grade, meeting the requirements of SYJ4007-86 standard.
A dedicated matching primer should be used.
After the primer is surface dry, tape wrapping can begin. Polypropylene fiber anti-corrosion tape is a release liner type tape as specified in SY/T0414-2007 standard; therefore, the application process for release liner tape must be strictly followed. For specific wrapping methods, please refer to the manufacturer's guidelines.
The completed anti-corrosion layer must undergo quality inspection. Only after passing inspection can the pipeline be laid in the trench and backfilled.
